Away Meet vs Renaissance Park This Week

We have an AWAY meet this Tuesday, June 24. Please read below for important information and reach out with any questions. GO DEVIL RAYS!

Renaissance Park Pool: 1363 Ileagnes Rd. Raleigh, NC 27603

There are two parking lots, we should park in the bigger one closest to the playground.

Schedule:

5:15 Swimmers check in with coaches (get numbers)

5:30 Devil Rays warm-ups start

5:45 Volunteer meeting (if running late please email)

6:00 Swim meet starts

Volunteers Needed:

  • We are looking for one more Clerk of Course, an OOF Judge, and a Timer for this meet. If you are interested please reply to this email.

Important Notes:

  • There is no lighting at this pool so we will be finished by 9PM or whenever it gets too dark to swim.
  • The pool is located behind the clubhouse, we will need to enter the pool from the bigger parking lot (closest to the playground). There is no entry to the pool from the clubhouse.
  • They use Time Drops with two timers per lane, just like we do.
  • Our home base for the evening is in the corner closest to the playground. They have pool furniture but it is limited so recommend families bring chairs and/or tents. We will bring the team tents.
  • The concession stand will be serving hot dogs, pizza and snacks. There are water fountains as well to refill water bottles. They accept Venmo and cash.

☀️ Dealing with the Heat ☀️

  • Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate. Kids and adults, drink plenty of water starting today!
  • We don't know yet what the shade situation is at the pool but are bringing the three team tents with side panels.
  • We have asked for a parent plunge (or two) to cool non-swimmers off. Come ready to get wet.
  • We plan to bring extra water and popsicles.
  • If you have questions or suggestions please stop by to chat at practice tomorrow.

Each week we will be highlighting one of our generous sponsors. This week we are recognizing Greenwald Doherty!
